The 49th annual Western Port Festival
The former fishing village and popular industrial seaside township of Hastings will play host to the “49th Western Port Festival” at the picturesque Fred Smith Reserve on the Hastings Foreshore.

Brought to you by Chant’s Amusements – “King of Fun”, the carnival rides are back at the Western Port Festival in 2018!
With 15 to 20 rides they cater to the tiny tots toddler rides, Jumping Castle & all the way to the extreme – Freestyle & Rebel for the adventurous, along with some of our favourites Dodgem Cars, Ferris Wheel, Rockstar and the Cha Cha!
Plus sideshow Games, Showbags, fairy floss and more……
Ride Tickets will be available to buy tickets from the Chant’s Amusements Ticket Booth during the event.
Free Kids Activities
We’re sure all parents will appreciate how expensive festivals can be, so we offer an array of free kids and family activities. The Kids Corner is located next to the Children’s Carnival Rides on the Foreshore and is always a very popular attraction at the Western Port Festival!
All weekend we will have the Oasis tent which provides fun activities for children of all ages, as well as some shaded tables, chairs and free cordial for refreshment.
Along with the Teddy Bears Picnic Sunday from 10:30 am & FREE mini golf from 10am–4pm.
Thanks to our sponsors, we will have an amazing line-up of local, live music all weekend at the 2018 Western Port Festival.

Wine & Cheese Festival
We’re excited to bring together some of the best local wineries found on the peninsula! So all that’s left to do is come along Saturday 24th Feb, sit back, relax, enjoy the music & savour the taste of some of our local wines.
Where: High Street, Hastings – between Queen Street and Marine Parade.

Time: 12:15pm to 1:30pm
Cost: FREE participation for sponsors, community groups and schools!
Entrants from local schools, community groups, social and sporting clubs will participate in one of the largest annual street parades held in Victoria. The parade is conducted on a 600 metre stretch of High Street in Hastings, commencing at Queen Street and finishing at the Hastings Foreshore.
The timing of the parade is between 12:15pm and 1:30pm, with all entrants signed in and ready from midday, so make sure you come down early and get yourself a good spot along High Street – well before it begins!
A Judging Panel will be formed by the Festival Committee to decide on category winners, these categories are:
- Most Creative Display
- Best Display from Juniors (12 and under)
- Best Display from a Local Business
- Best Sporting and Recreation Display
- Best Display from a Volunteer Group
Awards for the winning categories are handed out on the Main Stage, directly after the Street Parade.
Classic Car Show
Cruise on down to the coolest place on the Peninsula for The Western Port Car Show.
Car Show will be held on Sunday, February 25th 10 – 3pm
Where: Rotary Shelter (near main stage) When: Friday, 23th February 2017 Time: 6pm until we run out of food! Cost: FREE Bring the family down from 6pm on the Friday night of the Western Port Festival and enjoy the free community sausage sizzle, the free community sausage sizzle is to be held at the Rotary Shelter next to the Main Stage. We are expecting big crowds, so make sure you are down early to avoid any potential disappointment!

We are pleased to announce FREE children’s face painting at the Kids Corner Marquee on Saturday and Sunday at the Western Port Festival in 2018. With some fun designs for children inspired by nature, wildlife, amazing superheroes and beautiful fairy princesses, make sure your kids don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity!
Wood Chopping Competition
The Victorian Woodchopping Titles are returning to the Western Port Festival in 2017!
Hosted by the Central Victorian Axemen’s Association, watch some of Australia’s most celebrated and decorated wood choppers battle it out to win a number of different competition events!
Commencing from 11am on Saturday the 24th of February 2018, visit the Waterfront Arena to see this spectacle!

The fireworks display will be bigger and better than ever at the 2018 Western Port Festival. It will be a massive pyrotechnic display of the biggest and best fireworks from around the country. This show on the Saturday night only and starts at 9:30pm, so make sure you bring the family down early to get a good spot as this show will shock and awe! Teddy Bears Picnic
Come along to our Annual Western Port Festival Teddy Bears Picnic!
Where: Kids Corner
When: Sunday 25th February 2018
Time: 10:30am to 11:30am
No child is too young (or too old) to join in!
We will be enjoying a full range of teddy activities including a sing-along, the bear hunt story, arts and craft and icing teddy bear biscuits.
Fresh fruit and water will also be on offer.
So please come along for a lot of teddy fun – and don’t forget to bring your favourite teddy bear friend along!
